What is a Work Camper?

A Work Camper is someone who enjoys full-time RV camping while also work as a Sun Outdoors team member.

"I think it's a great program!" said Sharon Glener, a Sun Outdoors guest who splits her time between Orange City RV Community in Orange City, Florida in colder weather and Sun Retreats Avalon in Cape May Court, New Jersey in warmer months.

Since 2014, Sharon and her husband, John Glener, have both enjoyed the benefits of the Work Camper program. During their summers at Sun Retreats Avalon, Sharon works in the office and camping store while John attends the main gate. It keeps them busy since their retirement in 2011 and they plan on continuing their part-time employment for the 2016 season too.

Marti Worley was able to take advantage of traveling benefits of the Work Camper program last summer when she went up to Hopkins, Michigan at Sun Retreats Gun Lake. A resident of Rainbow RV Community in Frostproof, Florida, Marti discovered an opportunity for part-time employment through the Work Camper program in her home state last year during the resorts peak season in the summertime and decided to go for it!

"The opportunity to go to other resorts and check out other parts of the country is a great benefit to anyone who loves to travel," Marti explained. "I love every minute of it!"
