Ways to Stay

Our guests have many ways to stay at Fort Whaley. Each of our sites include cable and WiFi access to keep you entertained and connected.

Choose a rustic camping experience on a primitive tent site that provides a grassy pad, or if you're an RVer, enjoy your stay on a spacious site with full hookups, grassy or gravel pads. All tent and RV sites also come with a picnic table and fire pit for your outdoor enjoyment, and are conveniently located near shower and laundry facilities.

Fort Whaley also boasts a great selection of vacation rentals. At the simplest end is the Bare Bones Cabin, which can sleep up to six and includes a kitchenette, heat and air conditioning, cable TV, plus water and shower facilities available nearby.

The Deluxe Cabin provides two bedrooms, and a sleeper sofa in the living room. You'll also have a full kitchen and bathroom, as well as a covered porch. Local Attractions

Fort Whaley is located near Ocean City, Maryland, a popular vacation destination full of attractions. Built on a barrier island, Ocean City features miles of beaches and its famous boardwalk. In addition, there are numerous shops, restaurants, and carnival rides. We recommend a trip to Jolly Roger Amusement Park during your visit.

If you prefer your fun in the great outdoors, head to the Assateague Island National Seashore. Shaped by the wind and waves, this sandy island features many spots for crabbing, fishing, kayaking, hiking, and biking. Most famously, the island is home to herds of wild horses that roam the beaches and dunes.

Outside of Ocean City, you'll find even more attractions. Enjoy a tasting at Costa Ventosa Winery, or grab a beer at Evolution Craft Brewing in Salisbury. If you're looking for more beach fun, head one hour north to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Here, you'll find a buzzing boardwalk, Dogfish Head Brewery, and Delaware Seashore State Park.
