Visit a Gold Mine in Northern California
Wineries and the Wild West are just a few of the things you'll experience in the Sierra foothills when you stay at 49er Village RV Community, located at the "Gateway to the Shenandoah Valley" in Plymouth. The surrounding wine region is home to original gold mines from the California Gold Rush days, making this region a must-visit for history buffs. In addition to these landmarks, you'll discover great shopping and incredible restaurants that will delight the heart, and stomach, of any gourmand.

California Gold Rush Country

A visit to the nearby town of Sutter Creek will give you a glimpse into the gold-rush era of the mid-1800s. Here, you'll truly get an understanding of the effects the Gold Rush had on the local economy as you take in the area's historical buildings and extravagant mansions that were built by successful miners.

Just 10 minutes further south on Highway 49 is the small town of Jackson. This quaint village is home to classic Victorian-era buildings such as the renowned National Hotel, which remains open for business and serves delicious meals up at Stanley's Steakhouse, a local favorite.

On the outskirts of town is the Kennedy Gold Mine, one of California's deepest gold mines that unearthed more than $34 million in gold during its days as a working mine. Tours are available on weekends and holidays, March-October, for visitors who want to examine the towering head frame or learn more about California's Gold Rush.

Amador Flower Farm

Amador Flower Farm

Pack up a picnic lunch and take it to the Amador Flower Farm, where you can dine amidst a beautiful, tranquil setting. You can easily spend an afternoon strolling along the winding garden paths, occasionally watching the ducks paddle gracefully through the water. Avid gardeners will want to visit the gift shop and nursery, which are packed with gardening essentials and a dizzying array of flowers, trees, and shrubs.

49er Village RV Community

Nestled in the Sierra foothills, 49er Village RV Community offers stunning scenery paired with an array of amenities to make your vacation one for the record books. Soak up the California sun by one of the two swimming pools or let your tensions float away in the enclosed spa. For sports fans, activities abound with opportunities for volleyball, shuffleboard, and horseshoes, while anglers will revel in catch-and-release fishing at the pond.

When you need a little time indoors, visit the billiards hall and rack up a game or two before visiting the on-site café for a pick-me-up and bite to eat. When the day comes to a close, you can cozy up in one of our luxurious rental cabins, or enjoy your RV vacation in a site spacious enough for the big rigs.

Though the Gold Rush brought the fame, Amador County remains known for its fabulous vineyards and wineries. Multiple destinations lie just minutes north of 49er Village RV Community, drawing in aficionados from around the country. Whether you're indulging in the local craftsmanship or playing a game of shuffleboard just steps away from your site, you're sure to have an incredible northern California vacation!
