Vacationing has looked a little different recently. But one thing is for sure, the outdoors are just as good of an option as always! In the spirit of safety, we've come up with six outdoorsy spring break ideas. From the beaches to the mountains, these options will keep you out and about having fun. Check out our ideas below and remember to travel safely!
With rough winter weather hitting many states this year, there are plenty of folks dreaming about aquamarine waters and white sandy beaches. In the Florida Keys, you'll find both! Try taking a stay at Pelican RV Resort & Marina, which features a waterfront location, private marina, Tiki Hut pavilion, and a Keys-style motel.
Nestled in Marathon, Pelican sits in the heart of the Florida Keys. World-class snorkeling spots like Bahia Honda State Park are right nearby, and there are also reefs and wrecks for scuba diving. Some other activities include strolling on Sombrero Beach, hitting the local golf courses, or fishing right at our resort.
Most spring break ideas revolve around warm weather. But there are those who aren't ready to let go of the winter wonderland. For lovers of winter sports, River Run RV Resort sits near skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing at Winter Park (be sure to read our Winter Park blog post). Plus, there are numerous hiking trails around Granby and Grand Lake, Colorado.
River Run offers luxury stays with panoramic views of the Rocky Mountains. You can cozy up in one of numerous cottages and cabins offering all the conveniences you could want. There are also many amenities onsite including a general store, arcade, hot tubs, dog parks, and a mini bowling alley.
Pandion Ridge RV Resort is the place to stay if you're visiting Alabama's Gulf Shores. Situated in Orange Beach, Pandion Ridge has spacious sites, two swimming pools, nature trails, and more. It's an ideal resort for families to relax at.
Around the area are many activities. Try hiking and biking at Gulf State Park, or perhaps hit the links at one of the great golf courses in Gulf Shores. Other ideas include charter fishing, outlet shopping, and many more outdoor activities.
Down near the Southern swamps is Reunion Lake RV Resort, our premier getaway in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. The onsite lake is perfect for fishing, and there are plenty of places to relax outdoors around the pool, on the mini golf course, or in a private cabana. Plus, families can enjoy plenty of sports including basketball, pickleball, and volleyball.
While the vibrant city of New Orleans is nearby, try spending this spring break exploring some of Louisiana's outdoor attractions. Right in Ponchatoula, Kliebert & Sons Gator Tours will take you to the ancient, mossy bayous. Or head on a scenic drive along the Southern Swamps Byway. And if you do go to NOLA, take a tour through the historic cemeteries, then visit the greenspace at City Park.
High on your list of spring break ideas should be Texas Hill Country. Since Hill Country isn't a traditional spring break destination, it tends to have fewer tourists. That gives you more opportunity to explore the iconic spring bluebonnets in Hill Country. Or take a BBQ tour and then work off the calories on some of Texas' best bike trails.
For a place to stay, try Hill Country Cottage and RV Resort. Featuring a nearly boundless array of RV sites and cozy cottages, Hill Country is a perfect place for a spring break vacation. Plus, the resort is pet-friendly and features a pool, picnic area, playground, and many more onsite amenities.
Florida has always been a spring break destination. And Emerald Coast RV Resort sits in Panama City Beach, right by the state's finest Gulf Coast beaches. It's easy to get out and swim in the area, or simply sunbathe on the sand. When you're done with your outdoor adventures, come back to the resort, play a game of shuffleboard, relax poolside, and enjoy a spacious RV site.
Though this year may look different, there are still plenty of spring break ideas that you can safely enjoy. Pick one for yourself and start planning your trip. Don't forget to share this post with your travel companions too!
