2018 Rock for Dimes at Sherkston Shores

Get ready to have some fun as Sherkston Shores hosts the 8th Annual Rock for Dimes in support of March of Dimes! Since it began, this event has raised over $1.5 million for several March of Dimes programs, and continues to grow each year.

Rock for Dimes at Sherkston Shores

On Thursday, August 16, 2018, musicians will rock out at Sherkston Shores for a great evening of fun while supporting an important cause. Rock for Dimes will run from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. in the Live Lounge at Sherkston Shores. Admission is available through donations at the door of the event.

Rock for Dimes is an annual battle of the bands event that supports many programs organized by March of Dimes. This event is March of Dimes Canada's flagship fundraising event, making it of vital importance.

Amateur musicians are encouraged to bring their talent to the resort's center stage. This year, Sherkston Shores is excited to welcome a variety of artists including Schoen, Wilber James Blues, and Hard Rock Hooligans.

Campers Helping Campers

For 2018, March of Dimes has a fundraising goal of $5000 for Campers Helping Campers at the Rock for Dimes event. The March of Dimes Campers Helping Campers program began in 1969 and has an admirable mission. The goal is to reduce costs associated with supporting children and adults who live with a disability.

In particular, Campers Helping Campers is designed so those with disabilities can enjoy a camping vacation at locations throughout Canada. Costs covered include specialized transportation to and from camp, meals, attendant care, accessible accommodations, supplies, and day trips.

Spiking for Dimes

If you're unable to attend Rock for Dimes, but would still like to join the fundraising efforts, there's another option!

You can join us on Saturday, August 25 as Sherkston Shores hosts Spiking for Dimes, a volleyball tournament fundraiser benefitting March of Dimes. This tournament will take place at the Quarry beaches from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Resort guests are encouraged to join the fun and register a team in support of March for Dimes. Each player raises money towards the fundraiser, either directing people to donate online or in person at Sherkston Shores.
