ashtabula harbor

1. Historic Ashtabula Harbor

A vibrant entertainment district, Historic Ashtabula Harbor is only 10 miles down the road. The downtown area is rated as one of America's Top 25 Best Main Streets and with good reason. Stroll the waterfront at night and you'll witness the drawbridge rising above waters reflecting the colorful city lights.

Inviting shops and enticing restaurants provide excellent places to visit. Grab coffee at Harbor Perk or indulge in an ice cream treat at Cones before enjoying the area's events. Major draws include the Glass Beach Festival on June 23 and 24, and the Wine and Walleye Festival on July 28 and 29.

2. Debonne Vineyards Hot Air Balloon Festival

Entering its 36th year on June 8-9, the Hot Air Balloon Festival at Debonne Vineyards is a sight worth seeing. Balloons will soar high in the sky above the winding Grand River during the balloon rally on Saturday. But don't miss the Night Glow on Friday! Balloons of all colors and designs will light up the grounds of the vineyard in a beautiful spectacle.

3. Geneva State Park

Spanning 698 acres along the coast of Lake Erie, Geneva State Park is a haven for fishermen, boaters, and beachgoers. The park is known for its spectacular walleye fishing, with several companies offering charter fishing trips. When you're not soaking up the sun on the beach, you can enjoy two miles of paved trails for biking and six miles of unpaved trails for hiking.
