How to Celebrate National Park Week

National Park Week  is April 20-28, 2024. Every April, the National Park Service and the National Park Foundation join forces to celebrate America's treasured national parks. It's the perfect time to honor the parks by exploring the parklands, preserving their history, and supporting efforts to protect wildlife and the environment. 

Here are some ideas on how to celebrate National Park Week.

1.  Visit a National Park

There is no better way to celebrate National Park Week than to recreate outside responsibly.

There are over 400 national parks across the country — each telling a unique and evolving story of our past, present, and future.

• Experience Yosemite Valley's towering waterfalls, Sequoia trees, cliffs, and unique rock formations at California's Yosemite National Park.
• Hike the Narrows of Zion Canyon in Utah's Zion National Park.
• Explore the glaciers and the Highline Trail at Montana's Glacier National Park.
• Revel in the wonder of the Grand Canyon and the wildlife in Hayden Valley at Yellowstone National Park.
