How to Celebrate National Park Week

5 minutes read Apr 15,2022
How to Celebrate National Park Week

National Park Week  is April 20-28, 2024. Every April, the National Park Service and the National Park Foundation join forces to celebrate America's treasured national parks. It's the perfect time to honor the parks by exploring the parklands, preserving their history, and supporting efforts to protect wildlife and the environment.

Here are some ideas on how to celebrate National Park Week.

1.  Visit a National Park

There is no better way to celebrate National Park Week than to recreate outside responsibly.

There are over 400 national parks across the country  each telling a unique and evolving story of our past, present, and future.

What are you waiting for? You can find a park and experience these natural wonders first-hand.

Even better, park entry fees are waived on Saturday, April 20, 2024, to kick off the National Park Week celebration!

2.  Take a Virtual Tour of a Park

Take a trip to a national park from wherever you are! Celebrate digitally with one of these tours or experiences that you can access from anywhere.

3.  Join the National Parks Conversation on Social Media

Share stories, photos, trip ideas, park experiences, and more with fellow park enthusiasts on FacebookTwitterLinkedIn, and Instagram.

4.  Volunteer or Donate to the National Park Foundation

Celebrate National Park Week by making a donation to the National Park Foundation and help protect these national treasures for generations to come.

Get involved! The National Park Service offers a variety of volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups as part of the Volunteers-In-Parks program.

So, how will you celebrate National Park Week?
