Summer Fun on the Jersey Shore

Summer is quickly approaching and it's time to start planning your vacation! One of the best spots in the U.S. is the Jersey Shore, a haven of beaches, boardwalks, and birding.

Cape May

Cape May is an East Coast jewel. This vacation hotspot features sandy beaches, small shops, and historic homes. 

Cape May Historic District

Travel back in time to the Victorian era in Cape May's downtown Historic District. Some of the period's finest architecture remains in pristine condition sporting turrets, stained-glass windows, and more. Explore the area on foot or take a ride on one of Cape May's famous trolleys.

Cape May Lighthouse

Standing since 1859, the Cape May Lighthouse is a New Jersey icon. You'll find it at Cape May Point State Park, the southernmost point of New Jersey.

In addition to the lighthouse, the park offers several coastal and forest hiking trails. This renowned natural area is one of the best birding spots in the U.S. featuring numerous summer shorebirds. When September strikes, you can spot raptors migrating south along the Jersey Shore.

Morey's Piers and Wildwood Boardwalk

The classic East Coast boardwalk experience can easily be found near Cape May. Head over to Wildwood and you'll find Morey's Piers, a 6-block amusement park on the beach. The carnival ride and water parks are just one part of the 38-block Wildwood Boardwalk. Along with the attractions, you can enjoy sandy beaches and scenic seaside views.

Atlantic City

A resort town since its early days, Atlantic City is an iconic Jersey Shore destination. From casinos to carnivals, the activities never stop.

Atlantic City Casinos

There's nothing Atlantic City is better known for than its extensive collection of casinos. Whether you're catching a concert, enjoying fine dining, or simply hitting the slots, the night is sure to be memorable. Some of the best spots include the Borgata Casino, Caesars Atlantic City, and the Ocean Resort Casino.

Shopping and Outlet Malls

Deals abound in the outlet malls of Atlantic City. Score deep savings on big name brands at the Tanger Outlets or head over to The Quarter at Tropicana for a shopping experience in the middle of the action.

Atlantic City Boardwalk

Long Beach Island

Sometimes considered the quieter coast of New Jersey, Long Beach Island is a fantastic family vacation spot. You'll find fewer crowds and miles of beaches, perfect for swimming and sand castles.

Granted, this attraction is a bit inland, but it's well worth the trip. Six Flags Great Adventure & Safari features rip-roaring fun for the whole family. Thrill-seekers can take on coasters like BIZARRO™ and BATMAN™, while family rides like the Big Wheel and Congo Rapids offer a gentler adventure.
