Get Out the Tree, It's Christmas in July

Snow in the summer? Why not! Throughout the north, our resorts are getting into the Christmas spirit as we prep for one of our favorite themes, Christmas in July. Wagon rides, visits from Santa, and site decorating contests are just a taste of what you can expect from these summer celebrations. Here are some highlights of the activities happening at our resorts!

Midwest

Used to long winters, Midwesterners know a thing or two about Christmas. At our Sun Outdoors Petoskey Bay Harbor, visitors can spend July 21-23 participating in holiday activities and crafts in our stunning clubhouse. Santa arrives on Saturday, bearing gifts for the good boys and girls. Don't forget your decorations. Our site decorating contest includes a prize for the winner!

Across the lake in Wisconsin, Westward Ho RV Resort is holding festivities during the same weekend. Santa will arrive with gifts for our campers while they enjoy decorating their sites and wearing their best ugly Christmas sweaters

Down in Indiana, it's Christmas year-round at Sun Outdoors Lake Rudolph. This top-rated resort holds holiday activities each and every day. Children can enjoy blowing bubbles and coloring with Rudolph, while Santa visits three days a week for story time. Cool off at our on-site waterpark and visit nearby Holiday World for Christmas-themed thrills.

Ontario

Head north and experience all that our Canadian resorts have to offer. This pristine region is home to some of our best RV resorts, and there's no doubt that they're in the Christmas spirit! Guests of Sun Retreats Blue Mountains can spend July 14-16 as a fun-filled weekend of holiday activities. Site decorating will take place, while parents can have Santa deliver gifts to their children. Activities and crafts will finish in a wagon ride with Santa and Mrs. Claus, but this isn't your grandfather's wagon ride. Prepare to get splashed in a summery twist on this holiday favorite!

Sun Retreats Penetanguishene will mix things up with an International Teddy Bear Picnic for the kids, complete with iced tea and snacks. Site decorating, wagon rides, and movie nights will keep things busy through the week of July 10-16, while the adventurous can participate in our famous Bad Elves Ride. Bring your biggest water gun and prepare to get soaked in an all-out Christmas water war!

In Prince Edward during July 20-26, guests of Sun Retreats Sandbanks can experience winter just a few months early. Parents can stop by the front desk to drop off wrapped and tagged gifts for Santa to deliver to children. And everyone can join in the fun with ice skating, snow ball fights, a snow man building contest, and a site decorating contest!

Northeast

From the Adirondacks to the Atlantic coast, the northeast has something for everyone. In New York, guests at Sun Retreats Adirondack Gateway during July 14-16 can expect visits from Santa, holiday crafts and games, and Christmas music, as well as cookie decorating (and eating)!

Jellystone Park™ at Birchwood Acres is going all-out during the week of July 10-16. Christmas Socials on Wednesday and Saturday will feature visits from Santa, while a decorating contest will involve RVs, campsites, golf carts, and even individuals! The adventurous can partake in snowman bowling and a mitten relay, while creatives will enjoy a Christmas tree drawing challenge and holiday crafts.

Campers at Sun Retreats Old Orchard Beach can expect visits from Santa and a delicious marshmallow roast on July 22, all while enjoying the company of two reindeer. Down at Sun Retreats Dennis Port, Santa will be making stops with goodies and gifts, while groups can enjoy decorating bikes for our annual "Sleigh" Bike Parade.

From July 24-30, Sun Outdoors Ocean City will be hosting Christmas at the beach. The fun will include ice skating in the sunshine, site decorating, and a golf cart parade, with plenty of prizes for those showing Christmas spirit!

The weekend of July 21-23 brings plenty of Jersey fun. Sun Retreats Sea Isle will throw a poolside pizza party on Friday, while Saturday night will bring an Ugly T-Shirt Party with a special appearance from Santa, a photobooth, and plenty of rocking around the Christmas tree. Sun Retreats Seashore will host a Jingle Bell Ball and Ice Cream Social with Santa and guests can compete for prizes during the resort's annual site decorating contest.
