Excitement is on the Calendar for the New Year

The calendar is full at Ellenton Gardens RV Resort, and the park is hopping with all the exciting activities. First let's catch up with everybody at the Wednesday 9 a.m. Coffee and Donuts. All the buzz is about the upcoming holidays. On Christmas Eve the park will be full of song as we serenade the homes and RVs with traditional Christmas Carols. Afterwards we'll share coffee and Christmas cookies as we discuss who's bringing what to the dinner the next day. Christmas Day Dinner will be served at 3 p.m. so don't be late. Share all the goodies of this festive event with us in the clubhouse. New Year's Eve is right around the corner and we want everyone to come out and ring in the New Year with us. Games will begin at 7 p.m. and the music starts at 8:30. Join in the line dancing or grab a partner and boot scoot across the floor, as we wait for the ball to drop and toast the New Year.

This year we're all going to get out more and work on staying healthy and enjoying the fresh air. Maybe join the golf league which meets on Tuesdays, or meet up with the Fishing Club and cast for the big one on the park's fishing lake. The exercise group meets daily, except on Wednesday when you can catch up with the bike riders and exercise while enjoying the great outdoors. For a little lighter activity maybe toss some horseshoes or join the daily shuffle boarders.

There's always some fun social games to gather old and new friends together. Of course there's lots of card games to choose from; get serious with the Bunco ladies on Sunday, it's "13" on Monday, Euchre is Wednesday, and Cribbage on Saturday. Tuesday is bingo night, Thursday is "game night" so anything goes, and serious dart games are on for Friday. Don't miss out on joining the crafts group on Tuesdays, as this is a great opportunity to learn something new, create a gift for yourself or a friend, and listen to all the latest news and happenings.

It's a new year and we are excited for all the opportunities and possibilities the year has to offer. Ellenton Gardens is a lively and friendly park with a spacious clubhouse, heated pool, and a full calendar that creates a sense of community. Maybe this is the year that you decide to get outdoors more, maybe try something new. Let's check out some of the natural beauty of the area and get a little exercise as we visit the Terra Ceia Preserve State Park, a short 15 minute drive. A great place for fishing, bird watching and Florida wildlife viewing among the mangrove hammocks and forests. The aquatic preserve includes the last undeveloped shoreline along Tampa Bay. Rent kayaks or canoes from Paddle Florida and explore the bays and creeks that support underwater oyster bars and seagrasses. Wildlife in the area includes herons and egrets, tarpon and snook, and dolphin.
