Broadmoor Seven Falls

The majestic Broadmoor Seven Falls has a place on National Geographic's listing of international waterfalls, and with good reason. It's well worth the 32-mile drive from Larkspur to witness the powerful cascade of water tumbling over 180 feet down the rocky cliffs. A stairway of 224 steps climbs alongside the waterfall, taking you to an overlook with stunning vistas of Colorado's rugged mountains and golden prairies.

At the top, two hiking trails await. If you follow the Inspiration Point trail it will provide panoramic views of the surrounding region, while the Midnight Falls trail leads you to a small, sparkling waterfall. For those seeking high-intensity thrills, The Broadmoor Soaring Adventure will carry you along 10 ziplines over "The Grandest Mile of Scenery in Colorado," offering the chance to fly directly above Seven Falls.

At the end of your adventure, be sure to stop by the gift shop for a memento of your travels, and refuel with a meal at Restaurant 1858, where sustainably-raised meat and decadent desserts are sure to tantalize your taste buds.

Cave of the Winds

Marvels of the underground world await you at the Cave of the Winds. This expansive cave system can be explored by the family-friendly Discovery Tour, eerie Lantern Tour, and the Caving 101 tour that will have you crawling and climbing through undeveloped passageways.

There are plenty of outdoor activities as well. Climb and maneuver around aerial obstacles as you hang 600 feet above the ground on the Wind Walker Challenger Course. Soar above the valley floor on the Bat-A-Pult, a seated attraction that takes you flying over the canyons before being pulled back to the top. And the most thrilling adventure lies in the Terror-dactyl ride, which launches passengers 150 feet down into Williams Canyon at nearly 100 miles per hour!
