Butterfly Rainforest

A beautiful fantasy, the Butterfly Rainforest at the Florida Museum is home to hundreds of fluttery creatures, some of which are happy to land on the arms or shoulders of visitors as they stroll through a lush rainforest. Tropical trees and colorful flowering plants offer a scenic escape for the shyer butterflies, and gentle waterfalls provide a soothing backdrop of noise. Visitors to this unique exhibit can witness the butterflies dance and frolic amid the exquisite flowers and plants, making for a wonderful afternoon activity.

Florida Museum of Natural History

Housing an enormous number of exhibits, the Florida Museum of Natural History is a place that you'll want to visit regularly, as there's always something new to see. Regular displays include everything from mammoth bones to Native American relics and a close look at the waterways and wildlife of northwest Florida.

Currently on a limited time feature until May 6, 2018, is the Scoop on Poop exhibit, a humorous and informative take on the one thing that every living creature has in common. Learn how animals use excrement for an array of purposes such as building houses, sending messages, and hiding from enemies. You can also enjoy plenty of interactive activities including dung beetle races and a chance to find out how long it would an elephant to produce your body weight in poop (hint: not very long!).
