3 Great Things to Do in Owen Sound This Summer

Southampton Chantry Island Lighthouse Tours

Situated off the shore of Southampton, the Chantry Island Lighthouse was built in 1859 and still stands tall above Lake Huron. If you're willing to climb the 106 steps to the top, you'll be rewarded with a spectacular view of the surrounding region.

This stunning sight is just one attraction, as a historic grist mill and family home are steps away. Seven miles of trails cross through the preserve, offering opportunities for hiking, birding, and picnicking.

Huron Fringe Birding Festival

Those who enjoy the beauty of birds, wildflowers, and butterflies won't want to miss the Huron Fringe Birding Festival. Taking place during the weekends of May 25-28 and May 31-June 3, the Huron Fringe Birding Festival offers a rare chance to spot numerous migrants among nesting native birds. Highlights of the event include workshops on nature photography and bird identification, as well as guided hikes in the morning and evening.

Arran Lake RV Resort & Campground
