4th of July Decorations for Festive Campers

With the 4th of July fast approaching, many of us are looking for ways to celebrate the holiday. Grilling, fireworks, and outdoor sports are all traditional Independence Day activities. But for campers, much of the fun comes in adorning your RV site with creative and patriotic decorations.

To help you show off your American spirit, we're highlighting some of our favorite 4th of July decorations for festive campers. Read through the ideas below and pick your favorites to make for Independence Day!

Add A Little Red, White, and Blue

1. Red, White, and Blue Paper Lanterns

With a warm glow, paper lanterns are ideal 4th of July decorations for RVers. You can find red, white, and blue paper lanterns at Target, and purchase them online or in a store. Just make sure you have a small light to place inside if you'd like your lantern to glow.

People With American Flags Around a Campfire

2. American Flags

Looking for an easy way to add patriotic flair? Just use the American flag! You can hang a flag on your RV, put out small flags in a bouquet, or even place mini flags in cupcakes. With so many ways to get creative with the flag, the sky is the limit!

3. Patriotic Chalk Art

If your campsite comes with a concrete patio, patriotic chalk art is a great choice for adding some red, white, and blue to your outdoor experience. You can encourage the kids to exercise their creativity with popular chalk art designs like:
  • Fireworks
  • American flag
  • Bald eagle

4. Pinwheel Wreath

Red, white, and blue pinwheels are traditional decorations for the 4th of July. Premade options are available, but why not make your own? These patriotic pinwheels are a great project to get the kids involved in, and requires only patterned paper, hot glue, and an embroidery hoop.

Child With 4th Of July Face Paint

5. Patriotic Face Paint

You can even make yourself a decoration and celebrate Independence Day with some patriotic face paint! Just paint some simple red, white, and blue stripes, or get fancy with a more intricate design. This is a fantastic choice for creative parents to get kids in the 4th of July spirit.

6. Transportation Decorations

If you bring your bicycle, or rent a golf cart while camping, you can transform it into a mobile display of red, white, and blue. Crafty additions like streamers, pom poms, and stars add a festive twist to your ride for the 4th of July.

7. DIY Planter Rockets

Bottle rockets may not be allowed, but you can channel the same spirit with DIY paper rockets for planters. This is a craft that requires a bit of effort, but the result is quite creative. Add the paper rockets to your planters for a patriotic presentation!

4th Of July Flower Bouquet

8. Red, White, and Blue Flower Bouquets

Last, but certainly not least, are red, white, and blue flower bouquets. Premade arrangements can be found at many flower shops and retail locations, or you can buy flowers in each color to make your own bouquets. Either way, you'll have an elegant and attractive floral display for the 4th of July.

It's great fun to create 4th of July decorations for your campsite, but don't keep the crafts to yourself. Pass this post along to your friends and fellow RVers and invite them to join you in an Independence Day decorating contest!
