Desert Wildflower Destinations in Arizona

Desert Wildflower Destinations in Arizona

One of Arizona's most stunning sights is a landscape of desert wildflowers. From small buds to large cacti blooms, the flowers are a spring staple in the Grand Canyon State. Several of the best spots for sighting these colorful plants are near our Arizona RV resorts. Check out the list below and find a spot to see desert wildflowers near you!

4 Places to See Desert Wildflowers in Arizona

1. Saguaro National Park

Sitting on both sides of Tucson, Saguaro National Park is a great spot to see desert wildflowers. While blooms are impacted by rainfall and temperature, spring is generally a good bet. The park's namesake features enormous white blooms, while many smaller flowers also exist. Look for yellow desert marigolds, delicate pink fairy dusters, and thistles of all shapes and sizes.

Not too far north of Tucson is Palm Creek Golf & RV Resort. Try a stay here as your home base for exploring the national park.

Boyce Thompson Arboretum State Park

2. Boyce Thompson Arboretum State Park

Boyce Thompson Arboretum State Park is nestled 45 miles east of Mesa. Blooms start in the spring and carry into early summer when the cacti begin to bear fruit. Along with desert wildflowers, the arboretum is also a birding hotspot. There's plenty of flora and fauna to see while walking the trails!

3. San Tan Mountain Regional Park

Southwest of Phoenix is San Tan Mountain Regional Park. This 10,000+ acre park sits on the edge of the suburbs and is a great destination for desert wildflowers. Yellows, pinks, purples, and reds cover the landscape beginning in April. While the scenery is great, check the trails before hiking, as some can be long and strenuous.

Tonto National Forest Wildflowers

4. Tonto National Forest

Tonto National Forest is less a specific destination and more a collection of scenic spots. Throughout the forest, though, you'll find mountains, canyons, and colorful wildflowers. Very close to Blue Star RV Resort is Lost Dutchman State Park. This corner of the park features plenty of desert wildflowers that you can view from well-maintained trails.
