This area provides ample opportunity for fishing, kayaking, hiking, and biking. You can engage in these sports at places like Crystal River Preserve State Park, Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge, and Three Sisters Springs. You're also likely to spot wildlife of all kinds in these natural preserves!
More outdoor time is available at Fort Island Gulf Beach, as well as Crystal River Archaeological Park, and Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park. Several of these stunning locales also offer private manatee tours and airboat rides. Try one of these tours to make memories that will last a lifetime!
There are a wide variety of fish species here. Common fish found around the gulf coast area include black drum, flounder, mangrove snapper, redfish, tarpon, and others. Live bait is recommended for these types, along with a heavier tackle, larger reel and heavier line for the tarpon.

This area is bike-friendly with numerous paved and un-paved trails. Try the Withlacoochee State Trail, a 46 mile route through towns, lakes and forests.
