Summer may be winding down, but it's not over yet. Labor Day is the last summer holiday and it's a great time to get outdoors before the weather cools. While vacations look a little different this year, you can still enjoy Labor Day getaways that get you in the great outdoors.
We've come up with three ideas for Labor Day vacations in very different locales. While each one focuses on the outdoors, they offer unique experiences. Check them out and try an action-packed camping trip for your holiday weekend.
The mighty Oregon Coast is a sight to behold. It's well-known for towering seaside cliffs, rocky beaches, and majestic pines draped in mist. To start, visit Bastendorff Beach, a famous shore with many picnic spots. Then head just a few miles south to Cape Arago State Park. This renowned sunset spot is also ideal for whale watching and seal spotting.
Away from the ocean, many more scenic spots await. You can head to Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, where the forest meets the ocean at massive sand dunes. With an off-road vehicle, like a dune buggy, you can tackle the towering dunes for a day of adventure.
There are more attractions around Coos Bay and along the Oregon Coast that include favorites like:
Nestled along the Oregon Coast, Sun Outdoors Coos Bay is a great place for a Labor Day getaway. You can stroll the sandy beach and even go fishing or crabbing. There are plenty of ways to stay too, including RV and tent sites, seaside shanties, and vacation cottages.

The seashore is waiting for you in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. In the city is the classic beach with high-rise hotels overlooking the ocean. But if a quieter option is what you seek, visit Myrtle Beach State Park for swimming, fishing, or just taking a leisurely walk on the beach.
There are plenty of additional ways to have fun in Myrtle Beach. Why not try one of the following:
Tucked away in the Rocky Mountains is the charming town of Granby, Colorado. It's an outdoorsy paradise, especially with the nearby lakes. The largest is found at Lake Granby, an excellent spot for boating and fishing. Make sure you don't miss out on Grand Lake and Adams Falls.
The real treasure, however, lies just outside Granby. Heading north along US-34 will bring you to the heart of Rocky Mountain National Park. Filled with scenic drives and some of the best hiking trails in North America, the Rockies are truly what Colorado is all about.
Still want more to do? Try going horseback riding or whitewater rafting. And if you visit during the snowy season, head up to Winter Park for skiing and snowboarding.
One of our newest resorts, Sun Outdoors Rocky Mountains offers RV sites and cabin rentals in Granby. But even better are the unique rentals. You can visit and stay in an Airstream trailer, modern Conestoga wagon, or even a yurt.
Those special stays are just part of the adventure. A roster of great amenities is in store that include:
Don't let summer slip away without one last hurrah. Try one of these Labor Day getaways and experience an outdoorsy vacation for the memory books. And be sure to send this post to your fellow campers before planning your trip.
