As the unofficial end-of-summer holiday, Labor Day is the last chance to make summer break count. Yet, in contrast to some other holidays that offer expected activities, Labor Day isn't bounded by clear-cut traditions. Try paddleboarding and experience a unique way to get on the water. Lakes and rivers are typically warmest in early September, making it a great time to go paddleboarding. If you're worried about balancing, kayaking and canoeing are good alternatives that allow you to sit down.

The transition period from late summer to autumn is peak season for vineyards across the country. During Labor Day weekend, try visiting a winery or vineyard for a wine tasting. Many of our resorts are near renowned wine regions and you can find a few resorts below with acclaimed wineries nearby.
