It may be August, but summer isn't over yet. There's still time to book your next camping trip and make the most out of your outdoor adventure. Lucky for you, we've taken care of the guess work and compiled some of our favorite things to do while camping.
Capture Starry Nights
Some of the best star gazing can be found while camping. Depending on your location, you may be in for a special night under the stars. Keep an eye out for meteor showers and make things a little competitive by seeing who can count the most shooting stars! You can also point out different constellations and see if you can find them all with this sky map.
Hiking with Views
One of the best parts about camping outdoors? The scenic hikes that surround you. Get closer to nature (and your family!) and try out different hikes in your surrounding area. Typically, you'll be able to narrow down your path by beginner, intermediate, or advanced. Bonus points if you can find a hike that takes you to the top of a stunning view surrounding or try to start your day by catching the sunrise.
Outdoor Scavenger Hunts
While you're out exploring nature, make it fun with a scavenger hunt. You can make it easy and search for acorns, butterflies, or flowers – or more advanced by looking for certain tree leaves or other plants and creatures. Make your own list of things to find or use these premade list and get searching!
Campfire Meals
Get creative at dinner time and gather around the campfire to cook your next meal. From skillets over the campfire to cast iron pie cookers for grilled cheese sandwiches and beyond, your meal options are endless. There are ways the whole family can help! Outdoor Games
Being outdoors and enjoying all that nature has to offer is one of the best parts about camping. Turn the fun up a notch and get the whole family involved in some outdoor games like capture the flag, outdoor obstacle courses, or even frisbee. Plus, your resort may have additional outdoor games including sports courts, horseshoes, and volleyball.
