Everyone is excited about Fiesta San Antonio, and it's coming up quickly! This year's event is being held from April 19-29 and is one of the best things to do in San Antonio. More than just a good time, Fiesta San Antonio is a charitable event, raising more than $600,000 each year for over 100 local nonprofits. Start planning your stay at Traveler's World RV Resort or Blazing Star RV Resort, so you'll have convenient access to this premier celebration that is an extravagant compilation of music, food, and fun.
Performances will feature all kinds of music, including mariachi and symphony pops, as well as rock, jazz, and country. There are also plenty of special events that you won't find anywhere else, such as INCOGNITO, a masquerade dance party with live music, dance performances, and children's activities. Wear your favorite costume or mask and get ready to get down to reggae- and Colombian-inspired dance music!
The food at Fiesta provides something for every taste. Cajun food fans can sample delicious fare such as gumbo, red beans and rice, crawfish, and beignets at A Taste of New Orleans. Carnival food is available throughout the event, and this year brings in Taste of the Republic, a culinary VIP party featuring 12 local chefs who will be serving up unique twists on regional Texas flavors, each with its own beer or wine pairing.
Other entertainment options abound at Fiesta. The official Fiesta 2018 opening on April 19 will feature the opening of cascarónes, which are like Latin American Easter eggs, along with live entertainment and fireworks. Fiesta Carnival at the Alamodome will have a variety of thrilling rides, children's activities, and classic fair food. Topping everything off, three fabulous parades are planned including the Battle of Flowers Parade, the Texas Cavaliers River Parade, the Fiesta Especial 5K & Parade, and the Fiesta Pooch Parade.
Parking is limited downtown, especially during the event, so you may want to call a cab or take the VIA bus service to individual events. Bring cash for both admission tickets and vendors within the festival, as cards and checks usually aren't accepted. We also recommend wearing light, breathable clothing and comfortable shoes as you make your way through Fiesta San Antonio during the warm springtime weather!
If you would like to lay your head down a little further from all the hustle and bustle of the festivities, Blazing Star RV Resort is a great choice for your home base. This spacious park is located about 30 minutes west of downtown San Antonio and less than 10 minutes from SeaWorld San Antonio, offering guests the choice of full hookup RV sites or a selection of vacation rentals to choose from. Enjoy a full amenity package that includes a lagoon pool and spa area, game room, clubhouse, a spacious dog park with separate areas for small and large breeds, playground, and much more. There's also free shuttle service to and from SeaWorld, where you can witness incredible aquatic feats for a day of family-friendly fun!
San Antonio is full of exciting attractions and things to do. Head downtown to the famous San Antonio River Walk, where local shopping, fine eats, and river cruises await. History buffs can visit The Alamo or The Witte Museum, while thrill seekers can satisfy their cravings at Six Flags Fiesta Texas.
