Michelangelo and DaVinci Exhibit Captivates Bradenton Residents

Horseshoe Cove RV Resort residents are fortunate to take a tour of Italy's finest artwork without leaving Bradenton. The Divine Michelangelo and DaVinci Exhibit: Side by Side is on display at the Bradenton Municipal Auditorium through April 2015. Last year's Da Vinci Machines exhibit was such success this follow-up exhibit was created to provide an opportunity for more exposure of two Italian Renaissance master artists.

The exhibit, which traveled from Florence, Italy, showcases the genius of these contemporaries by displaying authenticated representations of the originals. These re-creations of sculptures, such as Michaelangelo's famous Rome Pieta and David were casted from the originals and allow viewers an up-close look at the artist's detail and precision, revealing individual marks, chips, and brushstrokes of the sculptor. Using licensed digital images of paintings from the Museum of Leonardo DaVinci in Florence, Italy, provides as close an encounter one can get to the real thing without going to Italy.

The exhibit is open from 10 - 5 p.m. Monday - Saturday and noon - 5 p.m. Sunday. Check the website for ticket info and other details. Guests are encouraged to bring headphones and listen to an audio tour through their smartphones.

Big Events at Horseshoe Cove

Now that everyone's returned for their winter visit we are busy celebrating our friends with Saturday dinners. On January 24th from 12 - 2 p.m. residents from the Northeast will have a great potluck with entertainment, flowed by the Michigan guests potluck on the 31st. In February, it's Ohio Valley residents on the 7th, and then on the 28th guests from The America's Heartland will be honored, plus any residents who haven't got a chance to attend a potluck are welcome. And our friends from north of the border are celebrated on Canada Day with great food, music, dancing and attendance gifts. Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy the Canada Day Dinner and fun events on Feb. 21st in the clubhouse from 5:30 - 11 p.m.
